The Ave Marias

Soprano Marita Bezzina takes the stage to perform an extraordinary and enchanting repertoire called The Ave Marias on Tuesday 29^th October 2024 at 12:30pm at Our Lady of Victory Church, Valletta. She will be accompanied by pianist Ramona Zammit Formosa who will also perform musical interludes on the piano.

 Marita Bezzina will sing a fine, beautiful array of Marian-themed arias, all composed in honour of Our Lady. The selection of arias varies from opera excerpts to Maltese compositions. Most of the composers are renowned international giants of the classical music world, such as Verdi, who wrote his Ave Maria in his opera “Othello”.

One of the most well-known Ave Maria compositions was composed by Schubert, which is followed by other celebrated Ave Marias, such as those composed by Arcadelt, Caccini, Gounod and the melodious aria by the Maltese composer and musician Mro. Silvio Zammit.

The Ave Maria -: will be held at Our Lady of Victory church, Valletta on Tuesday 29^th October 2024 at 12:30pm.
