The series of monthly talks at Din l-Art Ħelwa continues on 8th May with a presentation by Head Conservators, Dottessa Daniela Murphy Corella (National Heritage Conservation and Dottore Simone Vettori (Iconos Restauri).  The talk is entitled ‘Conservation Treatments and Procedures undertaken at the Auvergne Chapel in St Johns’ Co Cathedral.

The restoration of the chapel of Auvergne was undertaken and financed by the St John’s Co-Cathedral Foundation and carried out by the two Florentine conservation firms represented by Dr. Simone Vettori and Dr. Daniela Murphy Corella. It has given breath taking  results which will be illustrated during the talk.  Collaborating at this enterprise were: Site director,  Dr Cynthia De Giorgio, St John’s Co Cathedral and conservator Francesca Muscat, St John’s Co Cathedral: Gilder,  Conservator Francesca Brogi:  Stone experts, Conservators Elisa Bestetti, Anna Dezio, Francesca Colombi:  Easel painting expert, Conservator Sabrina Cassi:  Diagnostics,  Ottaviano Caruso.

Dr Cynthia De Giorgio will open the talk with a brief presentation.This is a talk not to be missed by all who value the historic and artistic value of St. John’s Co-Cathedral.
