Invitation – Din l-Art Ħelwa second tour to Heritage sites

Din l-Art Ħelwa is organising the second tour to Heritage sites and properties under its management for the dual purpose of:

o   Offering sponsors, members, friends and supporters of DLĦ a unique opportunity to experience the built heritage and the environmental sites which are under the custodianship of DLĦ.

o   Raise funds from donations collected from the participants

Ian Camilleri a volunteer with DLĦ is coordinating the opening and closing of sites with the warden / project leader who will also give a brief account of the main features of the site.

The second tour is set for the Saturday 7^th May 2016.  This event will be a heritage trail where the participants will visit Sarria church featuring the restored Mattia Preti paintings, the Maglio Gardens Mall in Floriana featuring the nine (9) monuments restored in 2005 and Our Lady of Victory Church and Museum, featuring the restoration carried out to date including the vaulted ceiling with its Erardi paintings.

Please note details as follows:

o   A donation of euro10 paid in advance to secure booking.

o   Bookings will be on a first come first served basis.

o   Tour starts at 9am.  All participants to meet at the Msida Bastions Historic Gardens (MBHG) where parking is readily available on a Saturday morning.

o   The participants will walk from MBHG to Sarria Church where our Executive President Maria Grazia Cassar will give a brief account of the paintings restored to date.

o   The participants will then head to OLV church via the Maglio Gardens Mall.

o   At OLV, our warden will give a brief account of the restoration work completed

o   Tour will end by about 12.30pm with the participants walking back to MBHG for coffee and tea.

It is suggested that participants bring a bottle of water with them.
