Harp and Piano recital to celebrate the 450th Anniversary of the Foundation of Valletta
Our Lady of Victory Church
1 April 2016 7.30 p.m.
Din l-Art Helwa is organising a Harp and Piano recital at Our Lady of Victory Church to mark the 450th Anniversary of Valletta. Tradition has it that the foundation stone of our capital city lies somewhere within the church precincts. Internationally acclaimed harpist, Silke Aichhorn, and the renowned pianist, Sofia Narmania bring us a delightful programme set to the fabulous baroque background and perfect acoustics of Our Lady of Victory Church where the 18c ceiling paintings of Alessio Erardi have now been revealed. The paintings depict episodes in the life of the Blessed Virgin, so this programme has been chosen specially by Silke and Sofia to reflect these spiritual and artistic treasures and the joy of Easter, and to honour the church built in thanksgiving by Grand Master de Valette and the Order of Knights after their victory in 1565.
Tickets are against a donation of €20 which will include refreshments served on the church parvis – weather permitting. Any funds raised are dedicated to the restoration programme of Victory Church.
Seating is limited, so if you wish to reserve seats, please email info@dinlarthelwa.org for the attention of Anne Marie Navarro or call 21220358 Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
