Citizens rally in favour of the countryside

WE WERE THERE.  Din l-Art Helwa members turned out in huge numbers to join in the massive citizens action to show their displeasure at government intentions to take yet more construction into yet more out of development zones, this time the excuse being the new university at Zonqor Point.  Citizens were united in favour of the countryside and the protection of our open spaces in a huge turnout of some 3000 persons.

Republic Street was filled with energetic crowds from the Law Courts right to the city’s entrance, the largest show of concern that has ever taken place in the history of campaigning in Malta.  Well, we hope our politicians listen.  Our message could not have been clearer.
