Din l-Art Ħelwa is organising the third tour to Heritage sites and properties under its management for the dual purpose of:

  • Offering sponsors, members, friends and supporters of DLH a unique opportunity to experience the built heritage and the environmental sites which are under the custodianship of DLĦ.

  • Raise funds from donations collected from the participants

Ian Camilleri a volunteer with DLĦ is coordinating the opening and closing of sites with the warden / ranger who will also give a brief account of the main features of the site.

The third tour is set for the Saturday 18th June 2016. In this event the participants will visit the Red Tower and Natura 2000 site at Mellieha, They will enjoy the splendid views from the roof of the Gozo and Comino channel, the Santa Maria tower on Comino and the White tower at Marfa. The Natura 2000 ranger will guide us and the participants shall enjoy beautiful views of the Nature Reserve led and Mellieħa bay and shall also visit the Roman Beehives only a few meters from the track. There will be no trekking and the minivan will be with us all the time.

Please note details as follows:

  • A donation of euro10 paid in advance to secure booking.
  • Bookings will be on a first come first served basis.

  • Tour starts at 9am. All participants to meet at the Msida Bastions Historic Gardens where parking is readily available on a Saturday morning.

  • Transport will be provided to the site and the mini-van will stay with the group for the duration of the tour.

  • Tour will end by about 12.30pm with the minivan returning participants back to MB Historic Gardens.

It is suggested that participants bring a bottle of water with them.
