Din l-Art Ħelwa is pleased to announce that the historic Ta’ Xutu Tower at Wied iż-Żurrieq in Qrendi is now open for visitors.  Seen here  illuminated for the night of its inauguration, the Xutu Tower is the 10th coastal watch tower saved for the nation by Din l-Art Ħelwa since its foundation in 1965.   The restoration project, which included important landscaping and regeneration of the surrounding cliff garigue was made possible with the generous sponsorship of the Malta Airport Foundation with the collaboration of ERA and of the Qrendi Local Council.

The tower, which has marvellous views to Filfla from its roof and interactive information about the history of the tower, about Filfla and its important biodiversity and marine life,  is opened by Din l-Art Ħelwa volunteers from Monday to Sunday between 10 a.m. and 12 noon, and on Friday between 12.30 and 15.30.
