Dear Friends and Members,

FUND RAISING APPEAL FOR STORM DAMAGE TO DLH HISTORIC SITES AND WEEKEND ACTIVITIES

Some of the historic properties restored and managed by Din l-Art Helwa have sustained damage during the recent storm and repair is going to be vostly.  We are appealing to the public to donate funds to enable us to urgently meet these costs and have the sites back in pristine order for the enjoyment of all.

The historic chapel of the Annunciation at Hal Millieri, limits of Zurrieq, will not be open to the public on Sunday 3rd March as falling trees have damaged its paths and rubble walls during the recent storm.  Sadly we lost the iconic conifer tree at the entrance which was uprooted by the wind.  Fortunately you will be pleased to hear that the historic chapel and its frescos sustained no damage and work is in hand to clear the passage for the forthcoming annual Feast of the Annunciation to be held later on in March.  Strong winds also uprooted ancient trees at the Msida Bastion Garden of Rest and disrupted pathways, while rubble walls have suffered a collapse in the moat at Torri Mamo in Marsascala.

WALKING TOUR SATURDAY 2 MARCH, AND OPEN DAY 3 MARCH GARDEN OF REST

We are pleased to confirm, however, that the Msida Bastion Historic Garden in Floriana will be open to the public for its monthly talking tour on Saturday 2nd March from 0930, and also for the first Sunday of the month on 3rd March.  Volunteers are working tirelessly to clear fallen debris to have it well prepared for the weekend.

ARTISANS MARKET TORRI MAMO

Following its success last Saturday, before disruption by the storm,  the Artisans Market will be again set up at Torri Mamo this coming Saturday and Sunday between 10 a.m. and 4.30.   See more on  https://www.facebook.com/events/290804588253733/

BIR MIFTUH

The Church of Our Lady of Bir Miftuh at Gudja will be open as usual this Sunday between 0930 and 12 noon.

If members can spread the message that Din l-Art Helwa is asking the public for funds to assist it with its work we would be most grateful.  Anyone wishing to donate can send a remittance by cheque to Din l-Art Helwa, 133 Melita St., Valletta or via bank transfer at
